“Imminent Danger”
Fate had a funny way of setting you up for success… or failure, depending on how you looked at it.

A collection of books detailing the malicious acts of the Carvelli family mafia was anonymously donated to my library, and what started as an innocent fixation turned into a very real threat.

I was dropped into a new world teeming with deceit, manipulation, and violence. And to make matters worse, a bounty had been placed on my head.

Everything I’d known had changed in a matter of hours. And the only person to blame was him.

Solomon Carvelli.

The object of all my newfound fears and deepest desires.

He was the reason my very existence had been unceremoniously uprooted. His presence caused a cosmic shift, not only altering my perspective on life, but also myself.

And while it was terrifying… it felt right. Like I was always meant to exist in this version of reality.

To me, he was a king. An unyielding force. A man drowning in power and influence.

To him, I was everything. The solution to any problem, the answer to every question.

The queen meant to be ruling by his side.

“Beset”
Jordan is a boy on the streets of an America bifurcated by civil conflict, in a world rocked by another global war.
He must initiate the dangerous trek across the war torn demarcation zone to reunite with his brother and his expectant wife: the only family he has left.
On his journey he meets Jeremiah. A man posessed of a library of knowledge and skill that belies a terrible secret.
Promising to help Jordan make his perilous crossing and find his brother, they become the target of a murderous group of white supremacists. They are also hounded day and night by a man who never sleeps, and whos psychological and pharmacological conditioning has fashioned him into the ultimate weapon of the state.
Against all odds, they must draw upon their scarce resources and the strength of the chance bond to survive.

“True Butterflies”
He grew up on the wrong side of the tracks with a troubled background. She grew up in a middle-class family with strict parents. A few summers filled with innocent love and hope quickly turns upside down. He wakes up to find she and her family have moved, without so much as a goodbye. When life sends them down different paths, they try to hold onto the memories of the past. She’s trying to survive an abusive husband, while he’s trying to hold onto whatever freedom he has left.

Will they be able to overcome the obstacles in their way? When their lives cross paths again will they be able to hold on to what they had?

Do you believe someone can meet their true love at 8? Most people would say no. Even as she grew up and life served her more than a handful of challenges, she would have probably agreed with you. Yet I knew in 1995 at the age of 8 that I was in love with her. No matter what direction life leads us, Paige will always be my one true love. -Jace

Let’s be realistic. Being barely 11, I didn’t have much control over my circumstances, and even less ability to change the trajectory of our paths.

Moments, choices, decisions… whatever you want to call them… it’s hard for me to regret them completely because each of them brought me exactly where I am today. A kid has almost zero power of choice. They are at the mercy of their parents. As a girl being raised in my strict parents’ house, I had even less choice, if that’s possible. -Paige
